【Tradition and passion from 400 years ago comes to life】
A festival of Ibun-jinja Shrine in the castle town of Nishio. The portable shrine is carried from the Ibun-jinja Shrine to the tutelary Mitsurugi Hachimangu Shrine within the grounds of Nishio Castle. Along with the portable shrine, the six castle towns of Nishio Castle each devise performances to dedicate in the parade, like the lion dance with festival music, and the Daimyo Gyoretsu Procession. The Oyakata float of Nakamachi is one of them. Nakamachi once owned three floats, including boat-shaped floats, but only the Oyakata float remains today. The upper landing of Nakamachi's Oyakata float can be raised or lowered with pulleys so that it can pass through the castle gates into the grounds.
