  • Autumn Grand Festival
The Utsutsu-jinja Shrine is a historic shrine described in the "Engishiki Jinmyocho" compiled in the beginning of the Heian period. The float is called the "Gobutai" (stage) because a Mai dance is dedicated on top of it. The elegant, yet powerful carving by the skilled craftsman of the Tatekawa family of Suwa, Nagano Prefecture is a highlight. Although the dedication of a Mai dance and float parade is not performed at present, the "Gobutai" is taken out of the float storage and exhibited during the Autumn Grand Festival.
