Tenno Festival
[Ama-City]
Date : 7/28/2018
  • Tenno Festival
The dedication is made on the 4th Saturday of July every year, on the same day as the Tsushima Tenno Festival. The old float was taken apart, and a temporary float was used in the festival after the war. However, the float which people thought had been dismantled was found in a storage attic in the year 2000, and it was restored in 2003 through the application of traditional craftsmanship. The float parades from Nuribe-jinja Shrine to Egami-sha Shrine along the old Tsushima-kaido Road with a Roguji Karakuri puppet on top. In the Egami-sha Shrine, it is decorated with lanterns, a bonfire is lit, and Shinto dance, music and drumming as well as other Shinto rituals are held.
